Roles Management - Join the Conversation!

From the list of roles that have already been created, I need to pull out a specific role. How do I achieve this?

Step 1: The roles that have been created can be looked-up in the search tab.

Step 2: In the search tab, type the role name.

Step 3: The Roles with this text will be shown in the list.

Step 4: You can also search by navigating to the previous pages or click the next page number to see the full list. (Refer to the image below).

I need to delete some roles that have become redundant. How do I go about deleting those specific roles?

Step 1: On the main navigation click on admin. In Roles Management we can create multiple roles. This is done so that we can give access to data sources and tags.

Step 2: Under settings, you can see edit, security and delete. (Refer to the image below).

Step 3: Click on delete. You will get a warning popup. Click on the Ok button to delete the role. (Refer to the image below).

I need to remove a security tag that has already been set. How do I remove the security tag from a specific role?

Step 1: On the main navigation click on admin. In Roles Management we can create multiple roles. This is done so that we can give access to data sources and tags.

Step 2: Under settings, you can see edit, security and delete. (Refer to the image below).

Step 3: Click on security and you can add a single security tag or multiple security tags from the drop down. Click on save. (Refer to the image below).

Step 4: You can also remove the security tag. Click on security and click on the close button for the specific tag you want removed. Click on save. (Refer to the image below).

How do I change the access that has been given to a particular role? I want to edit the role and also revoke access to some of the data.

Step 3: Click on edit. Under menu access, you can change the menu level access, grant roles access, grant reports access and grant organization access. (Refer to the image below).

Step 4: You can also assign data source access to that particular user and/ or take away access. Under advanced, click on the data source and click the plus button to give access. The minus button takes away the access already given. (Refer to the image below).

I need to give new roles to the users. How do I go about creating specific roles for the users?

Step 1: On the main navigation click on admin. In Roles Management we can create multiple roles. This is done so that we can give access to data sources and tags.

Step 2: Create a role: Click on + icon to create a new role.

Step 3: Now, you can enter the role name, assign the menu level access, grant roles access and grant reports access to that particular role.

Step 4: Click on the save button. (Refer to the image below).
